I don't know what happened to my videos from yesterday, but they don't work now. I deleated them from camera and computer, so they are lost forever. Sad.
However, we are moving forward in our feelings towards the fluffy white stuff. While she preferred not to walk through it she did like being around or near it.

Gestures
My Cousin Jill said I never post videos anymore, so....
Kev's cousin works for this company in England and sends Libs all the cool Sing N Sign stuff that goes with it. The book she is reading(about a cat named Jesse) in the video is her favorite. In fact this is our second copy. The first got lost and was being held together by tape.
Baby signing, if nothing else is a fun activity to do with your baby, however, it has helped us more than once work through the communication barriers that we sometimes have. We have been activly signing since she was about 8 months old. She can sign for many things, but she has some clear favorites as seen below!
I believe in these videos she is wondering "where" is Jesse and informing us that she is "not" there. They are lovingly narrated by myself, Babs, and Granddad.

Comparison
HaHaHaHaHaHa
Libby's Grandma is a funny lady. In my last post I said that Libby looked like Eloise, a book character that I edited into my photo on the left. Her English Grandma suggested she looked like the wacky lady I edited in on the right, a character from an English TV program called "Last of the Summer Wine."
Hahahahahahah
That's my girl...what do you think?

The Sky Is Falling
So maybe the sky isn't falling, but the Little's baby legs certainly are...
In other news, she may be too tall for her denim jumper, but it is a staple of her wardrobe and I may be having hard time letting it go. On the plus side this look kind of makes her look like the country- girl version of Eloise. What do you think?
Here's hoping your stockings aren't bunched around your ankles...

I Think I Can
I really want to get up on this bench.
Ideally this post would end with her sitting proud on the bench...We were not creative enough to take that picture. However, we did take these two where she looks like a shepherd.
The sun has barely been out these few weeks since Christmas, so Saturday when it paid us a visit we went to the park to make the most of it. I really should not complain about lack of sun though, b/c although it rained again this morning we are having a sunny, balmy afternoon for January! I think we'll take advantage of it.
Here's hoping it is sunny where you are!

When The Light Is Right
Oops
There is a good chance that I taught Libby that screaming is okay. Have you ever had that moment with your best girlfriend or your sister that was so exciting that all you could was scream, like when you found out that he finally called, or that you got engaged, or found out that you were pregnant, or had the feeling that a mouse just ran across your foot? Well, that is the scream that I taught Libby and now she does it all the time.
Her Dad loves it...really! Especially when she looks at me out in public, slyly smiles, and then shrills with delight and expects me to do it back. Then he looks at me and says "is this really something you should be encouraging?"
Somehow the weeks of bitter cold have finally broke and we are getting an unseasonable break. We romped outside today free of coats and hats. How is it that she looks like a teenager in these pictures? Wasn't she just a baby yesterday?
I keep trying to find clever things to write about tonight, and since I clearly have nothing funny to say, I'll leave you one more picture of this funny girl. She makes me laugh everyday.
Here's hoping you did some laughing today or at least had something to scream about!
Grace and Peace

Where?
The picture above is of the Little signing where...Where is Daddy? I think is what she was wondering
If my memory serves me correctly she found him just moments later...:)This is what she does when we talk about her little cousin Christian...who she loves by the way.
I know you can't hear her, but she is saying "awwwweeee"
And this is what she does when she sees me with camera, right before she comes to look at the screen to see herself!!!!
Cheese...again, and again, again!
That is where we are this week, where are you?

Christmas Casualties
How sad is this picture? We said goodbye to the headless, legless cat ornament, and to the shattered snowman snow globe this morning. They're off to that tacky Christmas decoration haven in the sky!
In other news, the Little's morning play time has been ever so cute these days. The other moring I turned the corner at just the right moment and I caught her doing this.We sing a song together that goes
"Libby has her hat on,
Hip, hip, hip, horray,
Libby has her hat on,
And it's coming off today."
Then we go around and sing with every one in the room. Which in our case involves Mommy, Gus, and Trouble, generally.
She and Gus were the only ones in the room so I guess she was just singing to him
Then today, when I was reading in the chair, she kept bringing me dolls and stuffed toys, urging me to play with her. Below is the scene that followed
One last thing.
I promise you that she does enjoy being outside and doesn't always cry. I also promise that every time she cries I don't whip out the camera. I really do comfort her when she is sad on most occassions. However, the other day we popped outside to enjoy the last few minutes of warm sun (I use the term warm very loosely) She was having a great time until she bumped her knee...she wasn't hurt at all but struggled to make a quick recovery, and well...
I couldn't help myself, nor could help myself from posting them..rotten Mommy I am, I know.
Libby: Ahhhhhhhhhh (this time giving it real gusto)
Me: Seriously my precious little dumpling this is the last shot
Libby: Wait I don't know why I'm crying
Me: Neither do I or do any of the neighbors (but I'm sure they are wondering)
Here's hoping we have more imaginary breakfasts, with a giant sheep dog wearing a top hat and less bumped knees.
Grace and peace my friends!

After the toys, she brought them food
(Please note that besides the larger stuffed toys she also brought the teeny tiny wise man from her Nativity)
I am not lying or exaggerating one bit. It was a sweet, imaginative moment for sure.(Please note that besides the larger stuffed toys she also brought the teeny tiny wise man from her Nativity)

Here's our dialog

Me: Libs you're okay? Smile for Mommy.

Confessions of a Lazy Housewife
There are several things that I wish to reveal on this space in order to get them off my chest.
#1. I hit a deer yesterday...not just any deer, a big deer, with big antlers. We are fine, but I have no idea what has become of the deer. I do know that we are going to visit the Progressive insurance adjuster tomorrow about the dents in the car...I hope they give a cute baby discount. (note reference to the Progressive commercial)
2. I am pretty sure that I am suffering from a concussion after rendering myself nearly unconscious when I left the attic this morning. I am trying to put Christmas away but it is a pain staking process, hence the concussion.
3. You know those large Christmas tins of pop-corn that they sell at Walmart? Well, I just polished off the last of the caramel flavor on my own. As a result I am joining Weight Watchers this evening followed by Yoga class.
4. Perhaps this is the most exciting of all to me, I did a load of laundry today and actually had a match for every sock in the wash. This is something that has never happened to me so you can understand my enthusiasm.
Here are some other things worth noting...
-Gus got washed and fluffed
-Libs is on stronger meds to get rid of a lingering ear infection
-She hates being outside in the cold as much as she hates the snow
- I was talking to the mister during his lunch break today, relaying a story of his daughter throwing cookies on the floor in a fit of rage b/c she did not get her way. He asked me this "Is this a normal reaction for 15 month olds or is there something wrong with her?" I replied, I think most small children have trouble understanding disappointment at this age, but our sweet Little may just be a tad more animated when things don't go the way she wants! I think that is the right answer, but I have to say that no matter how bad the temper gets there is something about that face she makes, when her world is closing in on her, that I just love(go here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here).
You see, for in that sad face is pure passion, that I hope given time and lessons learned will turn into a girl that is steady and strong in her desires for this life...
Just a thought.
Just my hope.
Just avoiding putting all those matched up socks away!
Grace and peace
