The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing

What is your favorite Christmas movie?
I received a spur of the moment text from my friend Beth today asking if I wanted to come over after the little ones went to bed to watch White Christmas.   White Christmas is my all time favorite Christmas movie. I actually already watched it once this season, but putting off the laundry another day seemed like a great reason to watch it again...I love the music, the dancing, the innocence, the fashion...Rosemary Cloony's black dress when she sings "Love You Didn't Do Right By Me" is exquisite.   I actually found myself wondering if a red satin ball gown trimmed in white fur would be appropriate for Kev's work party.
All time favorite scene from that movie is at the beginning when Fred and Judy get caught up in the music and head outside for a little ball room dancing in the moonlight..They float across the dance floor like no bodies business, while singing "The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing," and yes, I know all the words.  One day, I'm going to learn to dance like that.  If you don't know what I'm talking about because you have never watched "White Christmas" go and watch it right now...Appreciate it for it's nostalgia.
My other favorite Christmas movies include, but are not limited to:
The Polar Express
Christmas Vacation
Miracle On 34th St and
Elf
Speaking of Kevin(was I speaking of Kev?  I was up there somewhere), I don't think I have ever been so happy to have him home.  I don't know if it is bc it is Christmas time and it feels like he should be home, or something else...Things just feel more right when he is here.
We used to be away from each other all the time.  I don't remember how we ever managed it.  One time we met each other in New York City. He flew in from England and I flew in from Mississippi and we just met right there on 5th Ave.
I remember when we left each other he took me to the train station and waved me off from the platform.  When the train pulled out of the station I let my hair fall around my face so that the people sitting near me couldn't see me crying.  The man sitting next to me said something like "it hurts don't it...you'll see him again soon."
Then I think that I missed my flight home and cried some more.  I don't know what made me think of that.
This is us back then
Thankfully, his trips these days only take him away from me for a couple of days or weeks at a time...but it doesn't mean I miss him any less.
He took most of these pictures.  I love his perspective.  I love that he played around with the crazy black/white/red mode...It is just who he is.  I love that about him.
I think I'll leave this disjointed post where it is at, and go cuddle up with him until morning...
Maybe tomorrow I'll post some pics from our Bead for Life party and my new favorite picture of Libby...It might be on my top ten list of all time.
Until then, I'm going to dream of a White Christmas ;)
Grace and Peace
xoxo

Your comment about saying goodbye to Kevin and letting your hair fall around your face brought tears to my eyes. That is just what I feal like doing when I have said goodbye to you all.
On a brighter note I love the pictures of the girls dancing and hope you have Kevin around for a while before he has to desert you for hot dog land again.

I love to see little girls dancing...especially those little girls.
I also love the picture of you and Kevin. I remember when you went on that trip and took the train into the city. I was on the phone with you as you were walking and pulling your suitcase behind you. :)
