I was so sad.
How could they be un-decorating already?
While I'm at it, how could fall and all the autumn holidays be past? Life goes too fast and is so over saturated with things. It is nearly impossible to just strip life back and just enjoy the good things at the core of what they are. In the world we (I) live in, I don't know how to make this happen. Especially, when Pottery Barn takes their Christmas trees down 5 days before Christmas.
Sheesh.
Just so you know, next year I am making all my Christmas gifts and I am not setting foot in a mall.
Maybe.
We'll see how I feel about this next November.
Have you ever been to Build A Bear?
The place was built for grandmothers and uncles to take the little people in their life. There was no holding any one back today. There was no "not this time honey, maybe next time." Except for when she tried to pick out the peace sign and tie dyed bear and I steered her toward the cute bunny instead.
She was mesmerized by the experience, like the first time I took her to the movies.
Her choices made me laugh...besides her original choice of a peace sign bear, of all the hundreds of outfits in the store, she chose a Christmas dress for her bunny that is just a tad on the trashy side. I kept tried to encourage her to pick the dress with the puff sleeves and aprons, but I just let it go.
It was her special day with her Uncle and Grandma, and letting her choose just what she wanted was their way of treating her special.
Here's to being a kid.
Grace and Peace
xoxo

I love the picture with Uncle Trev making Bunny dance. Libby adores him! So sweet. PS. I would like to see a picture of the completed bear in the negligee. (I had to look up the spelling of that word)
I'm loving your daily posts. I finally have time to sit and take my time and go back through them. I'm babysitting Jackson for two days and he is napping.
Now you know you would have picked the peace sign and tie-dyed bear at that age!
Can't wait to see all of you!!
I too would like to see the bear. I love her special time with Gram and Uncle Trevor. I am sure she's enjoying every second. Ps - I can't believe Pottery Barn is taking stuff down - what?????
So fun!!! Sidney and Allison always love to go to Build-A-Bear. One year they did that with Auntie Val, and Sidney picked that exact same bunny. You will have to tell Libby. Sid picked out a Christmas outfit too, but not the negligee like Laura said :)...she picked one with an apron...maybe they didn't have the negligee that year! :) Love you. Looks like lots of fun!!!
So sweet! I'm remembering Natalie at that age and beware that first b-a-bear trip must have been magical b/c she became an addict, and because she is a first grandchild on both sides we now probably have 30 of them! Maybe 20. I put my foot down and even said no more stuffed animals at all as they are puffing out from every box and every bed. Then she came home this summer from horseback riding at her aunt's with a new b-a-bear horse...named Cowboy. Sigh. I guess childhood doesn't last forever.
