No seriously, my bags really are packed. Two hours of rather sporadic, but distinctly uncomfortable contractions last night, sent me into a panic. Since I'm alone again this week, and I just happened to be going to birthing class last night, and Libby would conveniently be with a baby sitter, I thought, what a perfect time to go into labor. My birthing class is a stone's throw from my hospital, and is taught by my doula. Perfect minus my husband. "Focus" I told myself, what do I need in a labor bag? Night gown, robe, baby clothes, tooth brush, lip balm, and done.
Wait, what if I want to wash my hair? Add shampoo, conditioner, and done.
Close the suit case and go.
Wait, what if I want wear something other than a robe and night gown home from the hospital..not to mention underwear.
Open suitcase and start throwing things at it.
So after 20 minutes of frantic packing, 20 more night gowns, 16 pairs of underwear, an evening gown and snow boots, the contractions seemed to cease, which is a good thing really since my husband is several states away. By the time I made it to my birthing class my tummy wasn't even tight.
However, this does seem to be the trend. Around 3 pm or so, for the last couple of days, sometimes every other day, I have a couple of real contractions. Yesterday's installment just happen to seem a bit more real, but that could have been do to the panic.
Who knows...I do know that I had about 8 different topics to write about tonight, and the one I chose is less then Christmasy. So in order to make this a little more festive, lets talk about the Little's outfit today. Stripes, polka dots, and a little like a candy dish. I really didn't pick any of it out...I gave her options. I actually gave her a red jumper, (pinafore Grandma) a white turtle neck, and red snowflake tights, which she promptly rejected. She then reached in her drawer pulled out the green t-shirt and striped tights and said "dis one mama." I had to force her to wear the denim jumper over it actually, she thinks that tights fall into the comfy pants category I suppose. The hat I added myself just b/c...well if you know me, you know how I feel about that hat.
Also, this little one came over to help me decorate my tree. To be honest he didn't add a single ornament, but he looked awfully cute sitting there , which made up for his lack of productiveness. Thank goodness his mom came too and she did most of the heavy work. My Little just unpacked things at an unheard of pace. Luckily, we came out on the other side of tree trimming with only two ornament casualties. We lose a a couple every year.
That's all I've got for tonight...so here's to you, thanks for reading or scrolling very quickly through to see the pictures.

If Libby is now deciding what she likes to wear should Grandma send links to her ebay purchases for approval before bidding?
The outfit you chose sounded very Christmassy but Libby's ideas also look good. The red hat always looks good on her but how much longer will it fit her?
Wobbie! He's getting so big. I am so glad that Libs' color coordination is on point. It took me 25 years.
Praying for you! I can't imagine the uncertainty of what you are experiencing especially with the Mr. not too close! I don't know about you but I can't wait to see Maggie's sweet little face!
I love that Little Libby Lou Who... and I love you!
