Bear with me on this one, b/c it is a little bit personal and is sure to not make sense.
When I was a working girl and I got dressed up every morning, putting on a perfect pair of shiny black heels with a pointed toe gave me a really good feeling about the day I was about to face. However, you can bet your bottom dollar, that at the end of the day I was more than happy to take those pretty black pumps off.
These days, my black heels spend most of their time on the shelf and I have transitioned to the "Mommy Shoe." It's practical, it's comfortable, and it matches almost everything (really?). Yes, the Mommy Shoe is functional, but it comes with high demands. You see even if your feet are tired at the end of the day the Mommy Shoe needs to stay on. The Mommy Shoe, must be able to tackle any mess, comfort hurts, teach, nurture, LOVE. The Mommy shoe must be able to discipline, but also must be disciplined itself in every area of life. The Mommy Shoe goes to a work and is held to high accountability.
It is true that those black heals can still bring a little grin to my face, but no matter how unkempt my hair is, or how many spots are on my shirt, or how many loads of laundry I've done, they will never be as great as my Mommy Shoes.
Reason to love #4 should probably read Devotion, but Power Heals sounded more creative...
Number 1 reason I gave up the heals for the boring gray slip on tennies, so I can play grocery store with Little...who by the way is shopping with coupons if you look closely and indecently needs fruit, veg, and a fire truck.

I don't think there is anything that provides more job satisfaction than being a Mum (except maybe being a Grandma!)- it may be long hours and no wage packet at the end of the month but you wouldn't have it any other way.
Say hello to Chris and Chiale and I hope you all have a great weekend.
this made me cry - maybe it's b/c i am sick and overemotional, but that was so great. thanks for sharing. oh - and you showed me your mommy shoes - and i love them :)
