Jelly Beans

Libby and the Chicken

If you really pay close attention to this blog, you know that I sit the Little down just about any where that I think will make a good picture. So while in Williamsburg Sunday I thought this white fence would make a good shot
Then this lady in colonial costume walked up with her chicken and claimed it wouldn't peck her eyes out. Realizing that a chicken would make a perfect spring time picture, I obliged her to sit the bird down next to my baby.
At first she liked it and then tried to pluck its feathers.
Then the chicken clucked and she wasn't sure about it

In the end she hated the chicken and all it's clucking and bulking and would not sit next to it anymore.
To all you signing moms out there if you examine this picture closely you can see me signing "chick" to Libby, pretending that I do it all the time, and that seeing this sign should some how calm her down, and make her less frightened of the chicken.
Poor chicken, it really was friendly. I feel like my Little judged it too harshly.

Old Friends, New Places

Good friends came to see us this weekend. We love them so much that we took them to Williamsburg. We had a lovely time looking at the old stuff, playing with our babies, and enjoying the newness of spring. Here are some pics to make you want to come visit us and experience life in Colonial times. I really tried to filter down, but I decided I didn't want to, so here are a lot of pictures of a sunny, spring day.

These are our friends, Becky and Josh. Becky is a good influence on me. Always has been. God knew that I needed her, way back when .

This is their sweet baby boy Jackson. She has his lips injected with collagen to get them that full. I'm jealous of them.

Me, Libby, and probably one of the only people in Colonial Williamsburg with an authentic British accent...he just chuckled at the people in their fancy dress, when they talked.

Cousins Come Off the Mountain

We got spend a day and a night with our favorite cousins last week. Libby loves to watch the big girls play, she thinks they're hilarious and I got to cuddle the tiny one.

It's Ivory

*Update: Tried dress on and it looks stupid on me! Not to worry future brides, I wont be wearing this IVORY dress to your wedding!


How inappropriate would it be to wear this dress to a wedding(outdoor wedding)? I really like it and they also show it with a brown belt and I'm a sucker for a brown belt.
Feed back if you feel so inclined, I could use it, about as much as I can use an ivory dress I'll only wear 1-2 times!

About the Background

For those of you who have commented about the background, here is how I did it.

1. Had a little blog envy over Erin's new background
2. Looked into getting one made here, here, here, and here
3. Decided not to have one made b/c I don't sell anything on my blog, and couldn't see spending money on it when really I write it for me and anyone else who cares to read it
4. Poked around to see how others do it
5. Kind of figured it out, but got super computer savvy, husband to help
6. Bought a digital scrap booking kit here by Natali Design (by the way if you would like to waste an afternoon, google digital scrap booking and you'll be set)
7. Kev made me templates on photo shop and I got to work

As for making one for others, I'm not sure if I could do it. Here's why...
1. Kev helped A LOT
2. I would need to hack into your blog
3. There might be copyright laws from the scrap book designers and they might require that I ask their permission???? Maybe that's only if I'm seeking money. I don't know really.

Anyway, I love being creative with stuff like this and since I have been playing with pics on photo shop so much lately I thought I'd would take a stab at it. I might do more...we'll see?

*on a side note I did read a lot of information about it before trying...if you decide to try yourself (which I highly encourage) the digital scrap booking kits come with really large file sizes, so watch out if you don't have an external hard drive.
*didn't that last statement sound like I knew what I was talking about. I really don't!
